I’ve found the holy grail of hot dogs in Atlanta – and I’m so excited to share it!
The Original Hot Dog Factory in Smyrna is serving up a classic menu of dogs, sandwiches, sides, and desserts – but don’t think this is just a fast food joint.
Every hot dog that comes out of the kitchen is made to order – and the options are endless. The Original Hot Dog Factory serves up dogs hailing from every corner of the country, from the San Francisco Veggie Dog (a soy dog with plenty of veg) to the Boston Dog (covered in baked beans and bacon bits).
My personal favorite – the Chicago Dog, an all-beef hot dog on the quintessential poppy seed bun. It’s topped with tomatoes, a pickle spear, sweet relish, onions, mustard, and spicy-sweet sport peppers (a hallmark of a Chi-style dog). This dog is just the right mix of traditional and trendy, with a mix of tart, sweet, and heat that is sure to please any hot dog lover.
Don’t skip out of the sides or desserts. The Original Hot Dog Factory is known for their factory chili – add it to loaded fries, burgers, or one of the dogs (the LA dog is wrapped with bacon and topped with chili cheese fries if you want to mix it all together!)
I didn’t have a chance to try the desserts this time around (I was 3 dogs deep and a bit full) but on my next trip, I’m going to try the deep fried oreos and funnel cake sticks. I also have my eye on a few other dogs – especially the Hawaiian Dog, a grilled beef hot dog with bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce, grilled onions, and pineapple!
If you’re not super into hot dogs, not to worry – The Original Hot Dog Factory serves up wings, chicken, and burgers to satisfy any craving. If you haven’t had a ton of dogs in your day, this is the perfect place to try them! With so many varieties, you’re bound to find a new favorite 🌭

It’s located in Smyrna right next to Rev Coffee – it might seem like a bit of a hike for us ITP’ers, but it’s actually just a 10 minute drive from the new Braves stadium (check it out after your next ball game!)
They’re open Monday-Saturday until 8 pm, till 9 pm on Fridays
They have a dedicated parking lot with free parking (always a plus!)
